Vladimir Mikhailovich, were you good at Math in your childhood? They say that those who understand exact sciences — succeed in life better.

Answer

1. There is no connection between knowledge of mathematics and prosperity in life. Even in mathematics itself there is a postulate, when they say for different reasons «… this condition is necessary, but insufficient».

2. To succeed in life, you need a few additional qualities: ingenuity, imagination, charisma, ambition, loyalty, skills and abilities. That is, it is necessary to have both hemispheres equally well developed — the left (which is responsible for the mind and order), and the right one, which is responsible for beauty, feelings and imagination.

3. As for me, then — yes, I was the best at mathematics at school and at the institute, I won many different Academic Olympics. But at some point I discovered that this line alone was becoming defective and dead-end for me. And I began to develop everything that I wrote here: composing music, poetry, speaking in public (at first through not being able to), to train intuition and every time to see the goal — why I am doing something. And very different horizons began to open for me.

4. It is believed that Mathematics develops logical thinking. But all the sadness lies in the fact that life isn`t built on logic. Moreover, there are a lot of logics now.

5. And more: Mathematics is called the queen of sciences. I thought for a long time, feeling that something was wrong here. And I understood: the queen is good but what if there is the «king» and what is he is more important?
