Elites are different

In fact, the question of the elite should already be removed. Well, what kind of elite do we have!?

Methods of selection are used for elite cows and elite seeds of wheat. And it is impossible with people.

With people, the elite is something that is not estimated by genes, but by social recognition.

However, in the West they try not to use the word «elite» — they feel that it is a kind of discrimination and segregation.
Disputes on this topic were nagging, and more or less suitable definitions were not found. Neither common sense nor sophisticated science can help.

The only way to solve this problem … is with hints, associations and images, when the whole puzzle is formed.
Here, you have a choice:

The elite are those who affect the minds and moods of people, and therefore they also can be moral authorities;
These are the ones that look ahead, not backwards;

These are those about whom they say: there should be more people like these;

They are not just holders of power, fame and money, but they are a layer responsible for the complete reproduction of the nation and its moral values;

These are the ones that guess the trends and are not in opposition with them.

These people are intelligent, ironic and have weight in the society. But they are not necessarily the bosses.

And further:

They will not risk their reputation and say what they are ordered from above, as they are self-sufficient and authoritative.

They are known by everybody and everything is basically good with their conscience. And of course, they are not politicians.

They understand their mission: to influence the minds of people and show the ways out of critical situations. At the same time, they do not abuse their superiority.

They do not hide behind their orders, positions, mandates, party leadership, professorial diplomas and champion medals received once.

They correctly understand when they are told: you are a hero, so help the country: you see — it is entrapped! But behave like a gentleman.

Moreover, it would be good to have an enlightened background, not to dissemble to people, not to promise superfluous things and be able to leave any conflict with honor.

Well, the formula could be like this:

Exclusivity + Personality + Intellect + Labor + Authority = ELITE
